a cake for a tailor

This cake was made for a tailor. She loves sewing, so naturally, these wedding gown cake with fondant deco and little cupcakes brought surprises to her and everyone around her.

birthday cake for 8 ladies

Last week, on the 23rd October was a special day, It was the birthday celebration for eight beautiful ladies from our Puteri Tai Chi group. So, I made this cake - Tiramisu with fondant deco with cute flowery 36 cuppies with two different flavours which are chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting and orange poppy seed cupcakes with cheese frosting.

I am glad that it turned out nice and was a pleasant surprise for everyone in the group.

3D birthday cakes

I recently made some birthday cakes for a friend and two little kids whom I used to babysit before. It was a simple gesture that made the birthday boy and girls happy.

This is a recent cake I made for a little boy who turned 7 on 23rd October 2010. Brendan (I spelt his name wrongly on the cake) was gleaming when I gave him the cake as a present for him. I babysat Brendan for about a year when he was about 4-5 years old. I know their parents, who happened to be my brother's friends as well.

A simple decorated cake with fondant as requested by a friend.

Jolene is a little girl whom I've babysat for a few years.  This little girl has brought joy and laughter to our quiet house since my kids are all grown-up. This was one of my earlier attempt in making a simple fondant decorated cake.

Visit to Taiwan

Sometime earlier this year, I went for a leisure cum "business" trip to Taiwan. I went for a holiday with some friends. At the same time, I took advantage of the trip to learn how to make Taiwanese delicacies. It was ann enlightening trip as I learn many things from the baking class.

Apart from that, the weather in Taiwan was extremely nice and love and the holiday itself was relaxing and fun.

I made this again when I came back home.

some of my "homework"

With the demand in "decorated" cupcakes from my regular customers, I've gone on an extra journey to explore making fondant on my own, and further turn my fondant into these cute little cuppies. Makes me feel so young at heart making these little cuppies.

Fondant cookies

Chinese wedding biscuits

I make chinese wedding biscuits as well. Here, is a sample of a dual colour chinese wedding biscuits which you can order as door gifts for your wedding.

In the chinese pre-wedding ceremony (aka  "Guo Da Li" in mandarin), both the groom-to-be and bride-to-be will normally prepare some wedding gifts as as part of their culture, as a form of respect and acceptance of each other's family. The groom's representatives would bring the wedding gifts to the bride's house and the bride will return some gifts as well to acknowledge the groom's intention in asking for her hand in marriage.

So, if you are keen to include this wedding biscuits as part of your gifts, you may call me for further queries.

Cream decorated cake

I was inspired to start this blog after the encouragement of my returning customers. I love baking. I didn't have much photos taken before, but here are some of the earlier cakes I made.

Do call me should you require any custom-made cake for any occasions.
